Privacy and User Policy

Noodle is dedicated to the privacy of our users and will not share the personal information of our users or educational ability to anybody outside the Noodle administration team except as required by law or with written consent from the caregiver.

All information that is collected is held on the Noodle database and can only be accessed through an administrative password, which is held only by the administration team and on our secure server. The information our tutors gather about your child’s educational needs will be collated and analysed by your child’s tutor and will not be discussed with anybody outside the Noodle administration team. Our staff are trained and regularly updated on our privacy policies and Noodle.co.nz will never require anyone to disclose more information than is necessary to be tutored by our trained teachers. Backups are kept only by our administration team.

REGISTRATION PROCESS

Children can only register with the consent and help of their parent or caregiver and can only register through the noodle.co.nz website “Join” page. The parent or caregiver will need to enter their name, their child’s name, birth date, areas of learning difficulty and areas the child’s enjoy. The parent will also have to enter a username and password so they can log into noodle.co.nz. The child needs to be between the ages of 7 and 13 unless agreed with by the noodle administration team. A noodle tutor will email you to gain parental consent and once you have replied to this email a noodle tutor will then set up a diagnostic test for your child to sit that will tailor a programme for your child’s needs. If you would rather provide consent through other means, such as fax, letter or phone, please check our contact details. Once this process is completed, your child can begin the tutoring programme. If consent is not received within 14 days, we will delete all of the users information.

TUTORING

On Noodle your child has a user name and password to enter the site, where they are given up to four tasks to complete. The children will watch and interact with a lesson before they read and complete an activity. If the child discloses personal information about themselves, parents or other parties, or includes content that is inappropriate (such as swearing), Noodle will contact, via email, the parent or caregiver and advise them on the content sent. This information is for the parent only and will not be discussed with any third party unless it is in the best interests of the child.

When a tutor receives the child’s answers, the tutor will mark and send feedback to the child. When the child logs back into noodle.co.nz they will be able to read their feedback and find out what they need to do next time. All our noodle tutors are trained teachers and aspire to use the most effective language to encourage your child to do their best. If a parent or caregiver feels there is any feedback that is inappropriate for their child, please make our tutors aware by emailing them, so we can rectify the feedback we send.

Noodle tutors will never deliberately send inappropriate material to our users or to parent or caregiver’s emails. Our tutors are frequently reminded about our web standards. With spam and virus’ circling through email we need to work together to keep any inappropriate emails out of our systems.

Reports

Noodle.co.nz will send our user’s parents or caregivers a monthly report on how your child is going. This information will be sent via an email attachment and will only be sent to the email given when the child was registered. If your email address changes you will need to notify our noodle.co.nz administration team as soon as possible. If you would rather receive a paper copy of your child’s report, please contact us.
